Subject:Website update...
Posted by:weatherangel.
Time:3:27 am.
I'm STILL working on getting the HurricaneSeason.info site finsihed up, but it's getting a lot closer now :) I have to do the translations from knots to miles per hour, and such still on both places I show the data as well as getting the update perl script switched over to use the new tables that I have added in.

All in all, it's really starting to shape up and I can't wait to get our first storm so I can do a live test :) The Eastern North Pacific (read US West Coast) has a wave that they're watching, but nothing official yet...

Between doing that and working WAY too long on a stupid apache mod-rewrite issue one of the sites was having after adding in a default joomla .htaccess file, my day has been tiring and full... It seems like I was awake at this time last night too, again working on websites. I really should cut that out and, I don't know, get a life or something.

If you are planning to track hurricanes this year, check out http://www.hurricaneseason.info ... Feel free to pass along ideas that you would like to see there, or critique what is there. I've had the site for many years now and it's pretty much the same functionality wise as it has been since 1998, even though it's gotten a face lift. I really would like to make it a good resource for others, so take a look and let me know what you think!

Subject:EPac Subtropical Cyclone?
Posted by:leporinis.
Time:10:47 am.
There are only a few subtropical (storms/hurricanes) on record in the East Pacific (EPac) ... however, there is an impressive low at 20N/145W right now.

Central Pacific IR (color-enhanced) sat loop

I'm not saying it's forming into a subtropical storm, but it got me thinking.

Any thoughts?

Are we still updating this community? ... By "we" I mean "somebody else."

Just curious, and I hope that the lack of posts since last August was NOT due to anyone being washed away in one of the 204092380293 hurricanes last fall.

So the current Charlie update has him going over Orlando, and he seems to have decided to take a drive east along I-4 this evening. So much for the town I lived in! Okay, so it will still be there, but it kinda feels that way. We almost moved back to Lake Mary instead of Fort Lauderdale... Don't fear though, because there is still time!

NE Mexico and the Gulf states...

Do we have Bonnie on the horizon??? ;)

The remains of TD2 have reconstituted nicely, and is about to enter a much more favorable region. I've had quite a kick out of watching this system, because as the official forecasts, including those advertised on TWC, had it being picked up by the south-westerlies and up nw then north, ahead of the large trough, I turned to my roomie and said that I really think it has better potential to make it toward Texas. Well, even Dr. Lyons prefaced his explanation of the NHC forecast with the suggestion that if TD2 stayed too weak, it might just "miss" getting grabbed up by the trough. And, well, we now have this latest TWO! Woot! :)

You know you want advisories and outlooks sent directly to your friends page. You're that cool.
